DOMESTIC ABUSE TRAINING FOR CHURCHES on SATURDAY 11th NOVEMBER

This will be held from 10am to 2pm in the Church Hall and led by Diane Jones from the Crossing Point Charity. The aim is to equip the church to effectively identify and challenge domestic abuse, whilst caring for those affected. Relevant, practical information and knowledge will be provided and we will look at God’s ‘blue print’ with regard to relationships and also examine our own church culture.

Please let me know if you would like to attend by the end of October. Tea and coffee will be provided but you will need to bring a packed lunch. There is no charge but the charity welcomes donations.

A message from Rev. Becca Rogers – curate at All Saints from 2011-2015

To all at All Saints. I’m sad to share that last week my Mum Hilary went to be with Jesus. She’s had a very hard year with various health problems but had come through them all with resilience. However, sadly she caught an infection which worsened and Mum developed sepsis. After all she had been through she simply wasn’t strong enough to fight this off.

Her death has come as a shock to us all, but we were with her at the end, and able to pray and minister to her. We are taking comfort in her faith in Jesus, and in each other.

All Saints was such an important place to Mum, and especially seeing my first ever communion as a priest, and of course our wedding there.

Men’s Breakfast – Saturday 11th November at 8am in the church hall

Please come and join us for breakfast, a great time of fellowship together and a short reflection this week by Frank Thyer. Ending with a song and prayer. Aidan Holmes

Bookworms

The next meeting of our Church reading group is on Monday 4th December at 7.30 pm in the function room of the Childwall Abbey Pub. All are welcome. The book we will be looking at in December is Pulitzer prize winner, The Good Earth by Pearl S. Buck. It is the poignant story of a Chinese peasant farmer and his family in old agrarian China. It talks of the importance and power of the land and raises many questions about values in life which are as pertinent today in our society as they were back then in China. We look forward to seeing many of you there!
