Opportunity for a Youth worker at All Saints
We have been offered the opportunity to have a Youth worker at All Saints.
The Youth worker would work half term at the church with our Youth including every Sunday and half time in a school Chaplaincy role at our 3 Church of England secondary schools.
Match funding is being offered centrally to enable this to happen. The cost of this Youth worker to our church would be £15k a year for 3 years. This is an exciting opportunity; please will you pray about this and consider partnering with us financially to enable this to happen.
How can you respond?
Please pray that God will make it clear if this is right for us as a church.
If you feel prompted to, please pledge your financial support by Sunday 16th July. You can do this by simply writing your pledge and placing it in a sealed envelope marked Youth Worker and place it on the offertory plate on Sunday 16th July.
This can be a one-off gift or a monthly amount that you are willing to give for 3 years. If you are a tax payer please note that on your pledge as that will increase the value of your gift by 25% with the tax that we are able to claim back.
If the total pledges made are enough for us to employ a Youth Worker then we will communicate when we will need financial gifts to be given.
If you have any further questions or would like to talk about this opportunity please contact me for a chat. Thank you, Andrew
Youth BBQ & Bouncy Castle – inside the hall if wet! Saturday 8th July from 6 – 8pm in the Church Hall grounds.
If you are currently in school years 6 – 11 this is for you! There will be fun, food and games. Please let Adeyinka or Andrew know if you can make it. Looking forward to seeing you.
Church Open – Sunday afternoons
The Church will be open on Sunday afternoons from 2-4pm throughout the Summer. There is a lot of local interest in our historic Church so please tell your friends and neighbours and encourage them to visit.
There will always be 2 members of our church on duty to meet & greet people.
Note of thanks from Adeyinka
The number of cards, gifts, messages, texts and well-wishes that I received over the last week has been quite overwhelming. I have been made to feel very welcome and I am so glad to be serving my curacy within the family at All Saints Childwall.
More than anything, I am excited to be partnering with you in the gospel and seeing what God is going to do through us in the time ahead.
Adult Confirmation
If you would like to be confirmed this year or would like to know more please speak to Andrew or Adeyinka who will be running an Adult confirmation class later this year. The Confirmation service that we will be going to for adult confirmees this year will be on Sunday 22nd October at 3pm at St Anne’s Aigburth with Bishop Bev, Bishop of Warrington.
BOOKWORMS
Our next meeting will be held on Monday August 7th at 7.30pm in the Childwall Abbey. The book is Lessons in Chemistry by Bonnie Garmus. I really enjoyed it.
Please don’t let the title put you off, there will be no GCSE questions in the discussion! Contact Val or Helen if you would like more information.
All welcome whether or not you have read the book.

Tear Fund and Plastic Free July
We’re facing a global rubbish problem, and the rapid growth of single-use plastics has made this crisis worse. It’s fuelling our throwaway culture, threatening people’s health and making the climate emergency worse. But we don’t have to ‘conform to the patterns of this world’: we can act now, change our habits and reduce our own waste.
This month, take action for Plastic Free July with our Rubbish Bin-go! With 16 challenges to help you reduce plastic, learn more about our world’s rubbish problem and share with others how we can all be part of the solution. How many can you do in a month?
How it works
Download the Rubbish Bin-go card and see how many you can tick off in July. You might go for 4, 8, 12 or all 16 challenges. This is the Tear fund URL or just Google Plastic Free July.
