LENT BOOK – Ash Wednesday marks the beginning of Lent as our thoughts turn towards Easter. “From Glory to Glory” is a series of 54 meditations on John 13-21 and covers the Easter Story from the Upper Room to Jesus’ post resurrection appearances and meeting His disciples on Lake Galilee. This book should be £4.99 but we have them available for only £1.50 Fairtrade Fortnight Monday February 27th – Sunday, March 12th 2023 Fairtrade Fortnight is an ideal opportunity to look for the Fairtrade symbol when we shop. It indicates that the bananas, chocolate, tea & coffee and other food items including flowers & some of the cotton clothes that we buy are all produced from crops that have been grown by farmers who have been paid a decent wage for their hard work. It means that they have not been exploited & their families benefit by enabling them to afford to send their children to school & that they have a better standard of living. Many supermarkets stock Fairtrade items & most chocolate manufacturers use cocoa beans that have been bought from Fairtrade cooperatives to make their chocolate goods. With Mother’s Day & Easter coming up look for the Fairtrade symbol when you buy the chocolates, flowers & Easter eggs. With our support we are helping to improve the quality of life for others in many countries in the world. Pew Bags – Thank You Thanks to all who have helped to prepare the pew Bags by sewing, knitting or printing. They have been very well received. Barbara CHURCH OPENING Following the successful Heritage Open Day events of the last few years the PCC has agreed that the Church should be open for visitors on Sunday afternoons from 2-4pm from June to September.
