Dear All,
Following the government announcement last night of a National Lockdown we met as Wardens and Staff today to discuss the implications for us as a church. We have decided unanimously to suspend all public worship services at All Saints with the exception of funerals.
Bishop Paul emphasised today the very first words of the latest Government guidance: “You must stay at home. The single most important action we can all take is to stay at home to protect the NHS and save lives.”
From this week there will be no public services in church except for funerals as needed.
We know this will be disappointing for some and we will review this decision regularly.
The Church of England’s freshly issued guidance is that we need to be ‘extremely careful’.
Every week our Sunday service will be available online on our website and through the link that will be emailed out. Our service will be filmed in church every Sunday morning and then uploaded. It will be available to be viewed from approximately 10.30am each Sunday morning.
Our midweek video message will continue as will our weekly sheet.
Please pray for all of our frontline workers who are under tremendous pressure at the moment and continue to pray that the role out of the vaccine will happen swiftly and effectively.
With my prayers for you all at this time
Andrew
